The 1-InnoCERT assessment mechanism involves;

• A self-assessment based on an innovation scoring system, with a minimum score of 700 of 1000,
• Assessment consisting of an on-site innovation audit by certified auditors, comprising of innovation experts and domain experts to verify the online scores. Self-assessed scores will be deducted if the on-site audit does not support the online scores.

The 1-InnoCERT innovation assessment criteria consist of 4 criteria:

1. Innovation ability,
2. Commercialisation of innovation ability,
3. Management of innovation ability, and
4. The innovation outcome
